Fun Facts About Fluffy
May 16, 2022
Kitties certainly are very fun and mysterious little pets. As it turns out, these little furballs are packed with interesting habits and traits. Fluffy also has a rich history, a collection of curious quirks, and a pretty fascinating purrsonality. Here, a Norwalk, CA vet lists some fun facts about cats.

Crepuscular Furballs

Cats are technically crepuscular. This means they are most active at dusk and dawn. (Of course, given the fact that Fluffy spends so much time sleeping, you’ll want to take that one with a grain of salt.)

Purrfectly Content

It’s common knowledge that cats purr when they are happy. But did you know that they also purr when they are sick or scared? This may be a way of calming themselves.

Lifetime Of Love

It’s no surprise to learn that indoor cats live longer. After all, they’re protected from things like cars, weather, and predators. We’ve also known for some time that spaying and neutering both increase Fluffy’s lifespan. Actually, the average kitty lifespan increased by a year between 2002 and 2012? That’s something to celebrate!

Finicky Felines

We may like to joke about cats being fussy, but there is a good reason for it. In the wild, they always eat their prey fresh. Fluffy will turn her little nose up at anything that smells off. In fact, our feline pals are so adamant about this that they will refuse food entirely rather than eat something they don’t like.

Kitty Language

Fluffy isn’t shy about expressing herself. However, some kitty signals are quite subtle. Yawns can sometimes be Fluffy’s way of mildly insulting other animals, particularly other cats. On a brighter note, a furball whose tail is up and vibrating is usually happy to see you.

Kitty Affection

Another bizarre sign of kitty affection? Licking our hair! Many cats do this when their owners have just washed their hair. Fluffy also likes to greet us by showing us her backside. Believe it or not, this actually can be a sign of trust and affection.

Green Kitty

Our feline friends come in all different colors and patterns. But did you know that a green cat was born in Denmark back in ’95? It’s possible that the unusual coloring came from copper in the local pipes. Please contact us, your local Norwalk, CA animal clinic, for all your pet’s veterinary care needs. We’re here to help!
